Local Democrat seeks to represent the working-class of Southwest Florida
Fort Myers, FL – Union leader and agricultural worker, Cornelius Fowler, is ready to voice the concerns and fight for working families in Southwest Florida. Fowler announces his candidacy for Florida House District 77, covering East Lee County - Lehigh, Buckingham, and Fort Myers.
“We need more working-class folks in Tallahassee. Being a union leader and advocate has shown me how disconnected the Florida legislature has become to the needs of families in Florida. As is said, ‘if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu,’ and I’m tired of us being on the menu.” Fowler states.
Cornelius Fowler was born and raised on the banks of the Everglades. His family has lived and worked in the agricultural community for more than 80 years as educators, law-enforcement officers correctional officers, and social workers. He attended Glades Central Community High School and Palm Beach State College. Cornelius and the love of his life, Kizzie, have been married for 22 years. Together they have five amazing kids Malik, Gabrielle, Victoria, Zion and Kimberly.
Fowler continues, “The people of East Lee are waiting to receive their fair share for infrastructure and education, so that this area can be as beautiful as its people, and children can be given the chance to succeed that they deserve. They will continue to wait if we don’t change who represents us in Tallahassee.”
Fowler is a member of the Lehigh Acres Democratic Club and the Lee County Democratic Club. He is a proud active union member of the International Machinist and Aerospace Workers, Lodge 2152 Vice President, Florida State Council of Machinists Vice President District Lodge, 166 Trustee, and Trustee for the Palm Beach Treasure Coast AFL-CIO CLC. Cornelius Fowler is seeking to oust incumbent Republican Tiffany Esposito, in hopes of passing legislation that truly benefits the people of East Lee.
